You can’t visit Nature’s Nest without doing the 2 minute walk down to the river Wye. From here you can join up with the local footpaths and bridleway to go exploring, with pubs on route! If hill climbing is more your style then why not visit the poplar Malvern hills.

Hill Walks
Skirrid Fawr, Black Hill and May Hill are our favourites.

Hire one of our 6 e-bikes or bring your own for a picturesque trip around the local villages. Follow our mapped out routes or simply pop out to get some milk and eggs. Try out a thrill seekers trip to Symonds Yat mountain bike centre, where you can also hire bikes. Symonds Yat also has a great family trail.

SUPing (Stand up Paddleboarding)

Hire up to 6 paddleboards and explore the River Wye. They are inflatable so do our best love trip of walk through the village, get on upstream and paddleboard back down to Nature’s Nest with our private landing only 200 metres from the tents.

With the picturesque river Wye on your doorstep, canoeing is a great activity to fill your trip with. Bring your own and make the most of the private access, or book with one of the local rental companies. Kayaking and stand up paddle boarding are also great on the river. Hereford Canoe Hire are in an ideal location as you can start at thier site and get off at Nature’s Nest. Just let them know you are staying here and we can give them access to the river to pick you up.

You can also try The River Wye Canoe Hire Company in Ross if you prefer. If you would like to go futher afield, Symonds Yat has great water sports options. Make sure you book in advance, weather permitting.

You can buy a fishing pass from Nature’s Nest. We have 2 licences available, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. £20 per licence.

Local pubs

The award winning Cottage of Content is approximatly a 15 minute off road/road walk or 20 minute road walk into the neighbouring village of Carey. Make sure you book in advance as it can get busy especially on the weekend.

The New Harp Inn, Hoarwithy and the amazing, The Loughpool, Sellack are short drives away.

Our Family Favorites

The Maze at Symonds Yat, is great fun for all the family and also has a butterfly zoo and crazy golf on the same site so is a great day out.

The Little Blue Elephant Play Cafe is a great wet weather option for little ones.

Try you hand at The Viking Games, traditionals nordic games adapted for twenty-first century fun!
